Chris Silashki Donatelli

I retired in October 2021 as an administrative manager at Alliance for Healthy Youth after 18+ years. I did, however, return as a board member in August 2022; it's different being on the "other side" of the conference table.

In 2021 our bachelor son took over the commercial business we started in '95, but I still help out with the bookkeeping. He lives parttime in the Philippines and with his laptop, the internet and our help, if necessary, he can successfully manage from there even with the 13-hour time difference.

We are "greyparents" to our daughter's and son in law's (also a Chris) 3 greyhounds: Cash, Crew and Corsa, or "the boys" as she collectively calls them. They all live in Copley.

I do enjoy having more time to travel without having the worries of catching up after returning. In May of 2023, we finally took a Covid-delayed trip to Spain/France/Italy with a small group that included our daughter. We celebrated our 45th anniversary in September on a Caribbean cruise. Along with some extended family and friends, we usually head to Dominican Republic in February to escape the ice and snow.

My husband, daughter and I are very involved each July with "Festa Italiana of Cuyahoga Falls"....one of the most popular and highly attended festivals on Front Street. We meet almost year around for planning and follow up.

I am also a member and officer of the Italian Center. Although we sold the building on Tallmadge Ave, we are still an active club with monthly meetings, events and trips. So many customers miss our weekly spaghetti dinners, but the building became a money pit with an aging membership.

After Covid and retiring I got lazy about keeping physically fit, now I am finally working on that. NO MORE EXCUSES!
