Laurie Eve Martin (nee Frashuer), our sister, aunt, cousin, niece, godmother, and friend, passed away suddenly on Nov. 16, 2005.
Born May 20, 1956, and raised in Akron, Ohio, Laurie touched many lives. Never one to utter a harsh word about anything or anybody, she would instead be the first to step in and help when a friend or family member was in need. Laurie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She joins her Mom and Dad, Louella and Paul Frashuer, in heaven, but leaves behind sister and brother-in-law, Cynthy and Gary DiGiulio; brother, Michael Gilham, twin brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Rose Frashuer; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Chris Geer; brother, Tim Frashuer; sister, Paula Frashuer; and Uncle John Smith; and 10 nieces and nephews. We will miss her early morning phone calls and the funny nicknames that she created for each of her nieces and nephews.
Laurie was a 1974 graduate of North High School and graduate of Howard W. Nichol School of Practical Nursing. She loved the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Laurie, Sundays just won't be the same without you.
Our lives have been forever changed by Laurie's generosity and love. But she was also blessed to have so many wonderful friends and people who cared for her. We extend a special thanks to the sisters and women of Leonora Hall, where Laurie spent the past 12 years of her life.
A memorial service and mass is planned for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Leonora Chapel, 39 N. Portage Path, Akron, Ohio (330-867-3855). The family will receive friends one hour prior to mass. A private family burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Leonora Hall in Akron, Ohio.
Until we meet again, we will miss you, Laurie.
